Description

This coverslipping film is the 5th generation made from resin-coated plastic film. The film eliminates the need for cover glass and liquid mounting mediums. Compared to mounting medium and glass coverslips, it reduces coverslipper maintenance and enables fast coverslipping.

The Coverslipping Film is perfect for the Hologic® Thin Prep® Stain Plus Imaging System. It is also ideal for slide scanning and digital imaging, and is found to scan 3.7% faster than glass!

Increase your laboratory’s productivity during daily peak-demand hours. Reduce the user’s stress levels by forwarding high-quality coverslipped slides to the pathologists earlier.

After 10 years of storage (compared to slides coverslipped with glass), film-coverslipped pathology slides show fewer artifacts after a decade of storage.

Pairing the Prisma® Plus with the Film® Coverslipper reduced scanning errors dramatically on over 800,000 slides.

Good expiration date (1-2 years)

Instructions for use

Length: 60 meters Width: 24 mm

– Operating conditions: Allow the film to completely acclimate to the environment in which it will be used. The film package should be opened and allowed to acclimate for 24 hours before use.

– How to use: For film installation and use, refer to the operating manual of the device to be used together with this product.

– Recoverslipping: This film can be removed according to the following procedure.

  1. Dip a film-covered slide into a 50 mL container of acetone. When processing multiple slides at once, leave some space between them so that the peeled film on the slides does not come into contact with each other. Coverslipping film can be removed on up to 10 slides per 50 mL of acetone.
  2. Six minutes after acetone dipping, the film can be removed.
  3. Dip slides in 2 changes of xylene (each 50 mL) to remove remaining film and adhesive until the white turbidity on the slide disappears. 50 mL of xylene is sufficient for up to 10 coverslipped slides.
  4. The slide can then be stained or re-coverslipped.

  • Slide storage (recommendation): 20℃ to 25℃ (68°F to 77°F), less than 50% humidity.

Precautions for use:

This product is intended to be used in pathology, anatomy, or clinical cytology by trained professionals of the respective field. Observe the operating and storage environment, as the deterioration of the film may cause coverslipping error. Protect from extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to light or very high humidity for this product and coverslipped glass slides. Please confirm if the slides are dry enough before use in the digital slide scanner. Wear gloves and a mask to prevent exposure to organic solvents. Dispose with a waste company or in accordance with applicable local regulations.
